1. What should I do if I am a New Customer?
To become a customer of econoship you simply enter the "Sign Me Up" link and enter the information requested in the Customer Profile andCredit Application. You will immediately receive an account number and password, which will allow you access to all the services available in our website. The credit application will be processed within approximately 48 hours, and then you can begin to reduce your transportation costs. If you require a shipment to be processed before credit approval,  we offer Visa, Master, Discover and American Express Cards to get your freight moving.


2.What information is in the Customer Profile and Credit Application?
The Customer Profile gives details such as company information, shipping information,warehouse location(s), your current trucking company discount information and freight description(s).The Credit Application asks for the normal business and credit information.


 


3.What should I do after completing the Customer Profile and Credit Application?
Once you have completed the Customer Profile and Credit Application, request a printout of the information you have provided, sign the credit application, then Email to us at : econoship  or Fax  to         (800) 495-6093 or mail to : econoship, PO Box:1019, Westmont, IL - 60559.

 

4.What happens after I submit my Customer Profile and Credit Application?
After your credit is processed, you will recieve notification of credit approval, along with a preprinted form called Rate Request Form(RRF). This will have all of your company's information that is required for placing a Rate Request. You should keep a blank copy on file for future shipments. If processing via Fax.

 

 


5. What is a Rate Request Form and how do I place a Rate Requests?
A Rate Request is used to find out what your cost would be for sending your shipment through econoship. You just fill out the information as indicated on the Rate Request Form, submit via fax or Online, and we will prepare a Freight Quote for your shipment and fax it back to you. You can also view the Freight Quote online, if you prefer. The response to your Rate Request should take approximately 30 minutes.

 

 

6. What is a Freight Quote and do I need one?
A freight quote is a written quote, good for fourteen days, depending on circumstances, there may be more than one option listed on the Freight Quote. For example, one company may have a less expensive rate, but a longer transit time. You can choose the option to fit your situation. It is not required that you received a freight quote. You can simply advise econoship that you have a shipment to be sent and we will issue a Pickup Request.

 

 

7. What is a Pickup Request and do I need one?
Pickup Request is the paperwork sent to the freight company advising them of your shipment. When they get this, it will be picked up according to the date and time the shipment is ready. All shipments require a Pickup Request. You will not receive this form, as it is just their instructions for the shipment. If you do not request a Freight Quote, but do have a shipment ready to go, we will send you a Shipment Request Confirmation, which will advise you that your shipment has been processed.




8. How do I find out the Status of my shipment?
There are two (2) ways to do this. If you are in the home page, you can choose the option View Shipment Status. If you have logged in, you can choose Shipment Status option from the list of options available in the page. In both cases, you will need to provide the PRO number or Customer Account Number to view the shipment status.

 

 

9. What other services are available?
To access special services, you will first login to the system. Then you will be able to access services such as Profile entry, change password, change address information, etc.

 

 

10. How do I use the site?
If you are in the home page, you choose the Site Index option from the list of options available to get the entire site concept.
